I’m Lorna and I’m a multi award winning artist based in Yorkshire, UK. My pet portraits are created on a commission basis for my clients all over the world.
Driven by the pursuit of realistic drawings by a overwhelming passion for all animals and their welfare. In particular I am an avid dog lover, living with my own studio assistant. Having grown up with dogs being an important part in my life, from living with them to also being involved in dog shows; it is safe to say dogs are my obsession, in life and my artwork. In my original artwork I aim to use my own photographs where possible so you are receiving a truly one of a kind piece of worl. |

I went to university to study Law, completing my bachelors and masters degree. It was during this time that I found myself turning to drawing to help with stress levels and to relax. As the years passed, I had reignited my fire for art and when I got my first studio assistant, my art career really kickstarted. I wanted a drawing of him, and so decided to draw him myself.
However, I never started with coloured pencils. I had that one HB pencil, and some printer paper. Graphite was a huge comfort zone for myself, but there was always a niggling feeling that I wanted to step into colour, colour was a scary thought though! In 2020 during lockdown, I plucked up the courage and started using colour pencils, and now I exclusively use colour pencils. I found that the spark of colour really helped bring your animals to life. Whilst dogs are my passion, I have loved creating drawings of all animals, from wildlife to cats to even degu’s! |
