Jess
Having Jess by our side for almost 13 years meant everything to our family. Losing her drove a stake through our hearts. Her departure touched so many other people hearts too. I know every owner says their dog was the best but Jess really was. Her energy, even in her advanced years, never wavered. She went through so many operations due to ill health and it never dampened her spirit. Everyone who met her loved her. She enjoyed life to the full, even upto the evening before her death. Holidays, day trips, family gatherings will never be the same again without her. The space in the house is as empty as the hole in our hearts. So when Lorna surprised me with the drawing of Jess, it felt like she was home again. Lorna has captured her spirit, her personality and her energy in the drawing. When we look at it in different lights it amazingly resembles different modes of Jess.We are truly in awe of Lorna talent to be able to do this. I always knew that Lorna was a perfectionist in her drawings and doesn’t settle for anything short of her own perfectionist idea of her own work. I have always been amazed by her talent but never truly appreciated the fact that behind every drawing is a story, someone’s loved one and a heart full of memories. Lorna’s gift isn’t just to be able to work methodically and accurately, but to capture that story, that love and immortalise those memories in a lasting masterpiece which acts as a testament to that love. No memory or photograph would ever be able to bring back her memory in a way this kind of portrait does. The tears that we shed when getting this drawing have been immeasurable. Not only for the reasons above, but also because I know the dedication, generosity, hard work and self sacrifice Lorna has gone through to produce me and my family this fitting remembrance to our loved one. The presentation of Jessie’s drawing was very professional, with lots of extras and even the working progress pictures so that we can see our baby coming to life. I would absolutely and wholeheartedly recommend Lorna’s work and Lorna herself to be trusted with immortalising your loved ones. - Kris |

Why it stands out The limited palette of this piece with the added spot of colour through the red leash connecting the dogs is so enjoyable. MR FRECKLES
We love dogs - really all kinds of animals but mostly dogs! We have had multiple portraits of our furry children by several artists and we were ready to have another done when I found Lorna Dandy’s FB site. Lorna’s ability and technique took my breath away. Her use of colour allows her art to stand above others as you look for animal artists and I am thrilled that we chose her for our latest portrait. Mr Freckles is an elderly rescue we adopted just a few years ago, and Lorna not only drew him beautifully, but she’s captured his “old soul” personality in a way that I am not certain any other artist could have. When Lorna posted his partially completed portrait on TikTok, and in less than a week it had received over a million views, Lorna was recognised by all those viewers for the incredible talent she has! When we received the finished piece, I was so taken by how beautiful it was that I cried. She made our old boy into a rock star, but Lorna’s the real rock star of the art world. - Ginna |

Floyd 'We were delighted and amazed with the portrait that Lorna did of our beautiful boy Floyd. She has really managed to capture his personality amazingly, especially in his eyes. The portrait now has pride of place in our lounge. I also loved following the progress of Floyds drawing via her live tiktoks, this really was special watching the portrait evolve over time! Cally Cally came to me as a feral/stray cat back in 2020, but she soon worked her way not only into my life but also into my heart. Since then I’d had thoughts about having a portrait done of her; but choosing an artist can be difficult. However, after seeing several portraits come together by Lorna’s skilled hand, I knew I’d found the right artist for the job of capturing Cally’s beauty and personality. Lorna made the whole commission process easy to follow and sent regular updates while creating Cally’s portrait. The excitement and joy I felt upon receiving and opening the finish piece is beyond comparison, and the double mount combined with the nameplate only adds to the prestigious feel of the portrait. Barney
Where can I start with this excellent work you have on my boy Barney. Watching your drawings on previous dogs many months before ,I noticed how brilliant artist you really are. I'm not going to lie to you but I've seen many artists at work on many animal portraits but there is no one as good as you. Your detail on each piece is amazing and you can see that you get the personality out from every dog that you do. You make the drawing come to life with your stunning artwork which I can see the clients want . You are a very extraordinary, incredible artist. I watched every second you were drawing Barney. I'm amazed how you put some many layers to get your results you need . The different colours and the tools you used was outstanding. Well I received the drawing it was very emotional for me and the detail was out of this world. A million times better than seeing it while you were drawing him. You should be very proud of your outstanding work, myself I'm over the moon. I wish to thank you for your outstanding work on my boy Barney. This is a first class piece by an outstanding, fantastic artist. I wish to also thank for putting Barney in a frame for me and the note pads and greeting cards are excellent.
