Frequently asked questions

To ensure your portrait lasts a lifetime, I use the best quality materials that I can; Faber-Castell polychromos and Caran D'Ache luminance for coloured pencil pet portraits and Faber-Castell graphite pencils. This is to help ensure that the colours will not fade over time.

I use a variety of papers, from Grafix drafting film to Fabriano Artistico extra white hot press watercolour paper. These surfaces are acid free and archival which ensures that the paper has a life span to prevent yellowing or warping of the paper.
How long does a portrait take?
This varies on a number of Factors, from the size of your portrait to the number of subjects you would like to be drawn. If there is a specific date you need the piece for please let me know as I will do everything I can to accomodate. Once you contact me I will be able to provide you with further information.
how do you accept payment?
Payment can be made via Bank Transfer or PayPal. Payment is due upon completion of the artwork. Your artwork will not be sent until payment in full is received.
do you work from photos? how many and how do i send them?
Yes I primarily work from 1 photo but if you send me as many photos as you like so that I can get an idea of your pets' personality, as well as seeing the variations of colour in the fur. Photos can be emailed to my email address or shared via an image sharing site such as DropBox or OneDrive.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, I take 25% deposits. Further information will be discussed during the commission process.
Can you mount and frame my commission?
Yes, I can mount and frame your work. Please let me know if this is something that you would require and we can discuss this further.
Can you do three or more dogs in a portrait?
Yes I can, the larger the size the more detail I can get in the portrait. 3 or more subjects start on A3 sizes and above.
Can you use seperate photos to create double or triple portraits?
Yes I can! I can combine multiple photos for your portrait. This is discussed in the mock-up stage as we decide how best to layout your commission.
Do you accept payment plans?
I do! I offer installments to help cover the cost of your portrait. Just let me know if this is something you require. Payment must be paid in full before I send the portrait.
